Connecting Artists,
Bridging Worlds

Copenhagen ⇄ Joburg reunites music creators from One Groove’s earlier programmes and welcomes new voices into a shared journey of collaboration, cultural exchange, and artistic exploration.

The programme is a dynamic platform for music makers and cultural entrepreneurs — providing tailored structures for art and culture to connect and sustain long-term global collaboration. Copenhagen ⇄ Joburg is rooted in context and community, and committed to creating a more inclusive and interconnected music ecosystem — driven by shared storytelling and artist-led co-creation.

Johannesburg 2025 ⇄ Copenhagen 2026

Two Cities, Multiple Cultures

Johannesburg — November 2025: Copenhagen-based artists take up residence in the urban oasis and vibrant energy of Joburg, joining local peers through co-creation sessions. AMPD Studios serves as a creative culture hub and networking space where co-writing, production, and workshops unfold, enriched by cultural encounters and intergenerational exchange. Together with Your Weekly Touch Up and the Embassy of Denmark, the residency concludes at Mamakashaka and Friends — blending music and dialogue on creative equity and cultural diplomacy.

Copenhagen — July 2026: Joburg-based artists immerse themselves in Copenhagen’s music scene, and the exchange kicks off at Roskilde Festival, offering a direct line into one of Europe’s most influential live music platforms. Danish industry workshops and networking sessions ensure that artists experience both personal and professional growth, alongside collective cultural exchange. The programme concludes with a co-writing retreat in a remote setting designed for deep focus and artistic immersion.

More than music-making, tailored programming fosters spaces where artists connect across cultures, genres, and lived experiences. Through co-creation, cultural encounters, and shared daily life, the programme cultivates memories, networks, and collaborations that reflect both individual artistry and collective vision. Here, music becomes the common language, and relationships become the lasting legacy.

Framework for
Growth & Exchange

Copenhagen ⇄ Joburg was born from the belief that music and culture can inspire change, amplify diverse voices, and bring people together across borders. By combining high artistic quality with long-term collaboration, the programme creates a framework where artistic growth and intercultural understanding go hand in hand.

The programme is powered by One Groove in partnership with Koda Kultur, Rapolitics, ALTBLK Continua, the Riky Rick Foundation and the Embassy of Denmark in South Africa  — alongside DMF, and DPA. Together, our collaboration brings cultural diversity, global reach, professional expertise, and the networks that make this exchange thrive.
